Your book choice is important.

When students are reading about what they love, they love reading!  It is important to keep in mind who your student is and what you know about them and their abilities.  Books come in many shapes and forms, and you can ask your teacher for help if needed on what reading level they are on.  Keep your student's stamina in mind!  But more importantly, know what your student loves!  Robots, gardening, outer space, dinosaurs- there are books about everything!  There are also books about life skills- brushing your teeth, the first day of school, and playing with friends.  Intentionally choose texts that will help your student- and your family!
